Jonathan Lane

Jonathan Lane is the Assistant Vice President and Director of the Urbantech NYC portfolio at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the City of New York’s primary public sector engine for inclusive economic growth and diversification. In this role, he oversees an over 10 million USD portfolio of market development initiatives that grow and strengthen New York City’s urban technology industry, by providing piloting, workspace, networks, capital, and other enabling infrastructure. Through this role, he leads the City’s Proptech strategy, including a Proptech Piloting program announced last year to use 45M m2 of City owned and managed real estate for proptech startups to pilot technologies that support top City priorities, and most recently, efforts to support innovation in battery storage, as well as urban agriculture centered around the newly legalized recreational cannabis economy.  

 Jonathan is member of the Urban Land Institute’s Technology & Innovation Council as well as several nonprofit advisory boards. He holds a Masters in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University, an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and a Bachelors in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
