David Malott (AI SpaceFactory)
An architect of skyscrapers and future cities, David Malott is the CEO and Chief Architect of AI SpaceFactory. Since founding SpaceFactory in 2017, David has piloted the growth of a global startup making headlines for its award-winning NASA 3D printing technology. He oversees all SpaceFactory building projects totalling over twenty million square feet under design and construction from SpaceFactory’s design and technology centers in New York, Boston, Shanghai, and Barcelona.
Prior to founding SpaceFactory, David was a design principal at KPF, where he excelled in the design and realization of challenging projects including three of the world’s tallest towers. He is the former Chairman of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, a global organization at the forefront of tall building performance and research. David led the architecture and engineering team behind the 600-meter tall Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen. Featured on CNN as one of “9 New Buildings Set to Define Cities in 2016,” Ping An Finance Center gained recognition for the smart and sustainable innovations which underscore its record-breaking height.
David Malott received a Bachelor of Science in Art and Design from MIT in 1996 and started his career at Nikken Sekkei in Japan. He is a registered architect in the State of New York and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
